Video of the week: Testing new treatments for vascular dementia, Prof Hugh Markus, Alzheimer's Research UK

Prof Hugh Markus and his team are developing a method of using MRI brain scans to measure the effect of new treatments for small vessel disease, one of the main causes of vascular dementia. Their approach aims to reduce the cost of early clinical trials which, in turn, will allow researchers to take more new drugs into testing and help get effective treatments into the hands of patients sooner.
