This edition of the webinar will include more of a focus on developments within the EU now that the UK has left. We will be joined by Bernard Grimm, Healthcare Biotech Director at EuropaBio. In particular, his presentation will look at the EU’s new Pharmaceutical Strategy its objectives and some of the work so far to develop it.
The webinar will include its normal updates on the latest developments in the EU-UK relationship that are relevant to the life sciences sector. In particular, this will focus on issues around batch testing and Northern Ireland. There will also be an update on the UK’s progress in negotiating new trade deals with third countries.
Tim joined the BIA in August 2020 to lead its strategic policy work around Brexit and Covid-19. He has over eight years’ experience working in health policy and public affairs. Immediately prior to joining the BIA he worked as a Policy Manager at Prostate Cancer UK where he led on work around access to treatments and supporting clinicians with best practice guidance. He previously worked at the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry as a Public Affairs Manager.
Outside of work, Tim is an elected Councillor in Lambeth. He has a season ticket for Southampton and enjoys cooking and gardening.

Bernard J. Grimm first joined EuropaBio, the European Association of BioIndustries in 2016 as a member of the Board. He has since worked as Vice Chair of the Healthcare Council and has more recently focused his contribution to the strategic direction of the healthcare sector. Bernard brings over 30 years of commercial and strategic experience to EuropaBio and its current projects, such as market access and incentives.
Outside of work, Bernard is a real cycling enthusiast. The Brussels' weather has so far never managed to discourage him from taking his bicycle to reach EuropaBio's office.
