The accelerator for UK early-stage data-driven health start-ups

Are you an early-stage data-driven health start-up looking for support to validate your ideas and develop your business goals?

KQ Labs offers a customised framework tailored to each cohort’s individual needs, providing a five-month programme of critical expertise and support to ten carefully selected companies, all solving important healthcare challenges. Applications for Cohort 5.0 of the programme are now open!

The programme: The KQ Labs programme is delivered over five months, kicking off in October and culminating in a Demo Day event in March 2023. Over the course of the programme, we run weekly workshops on a wide range of topics, all tailored to the needs of early-stage data-driven health companies. You will also have access to 1:1 mentoring with a hand-picked network of experts and introductions throughout the programme to key investors and corporates. We tailor our curriculum to our cohort’s needs each year, so that our weekly sessions are engaging and relevant to you. In short, we ensure you have access to all the necessary tools to best support your company on the path to receiving further investment.

The network: KQ Labs is delivered by the Francis Crick Institute which is based in Kings Cross, London. We are located at the centre of the Knowledge Quarter’s hub of science, creativity, and innovation. We also have success partners in a wide range of fields from across the UK and internationally, ranging from industry experts to key investors and major corporates including many pharma companies. At KQ Labs, we believe in investing in people and creating lasting connections. Once you join KQ Labs, you will have access to our network of alumni, experts, mentors, investors and corporates beyond the programme.

Funding: Each company is given £40k funding in the form of a convertible loan note as part of the programme. Should your application be successful, the terms of the convertible loan (which are standardised across our alumni, and kept benign for start-ups) will be made available to you shortly ahead of the start of the programme.

Logistics: Our weekly sessions are run virtually on zoom and will be complemented with various in-person networking events in London throughout the year.
