MRC/BBSRC are conducting a skills priority review, and are calling on  valued members of the UK Life Sciences community.

The UK has a highly talented and skilled R&D workforce and investment in people and skills underpins R&D activity across the economy. But there are significant, long-term challenges to address if UKRI is to meet future needs as set out in the government’s R&D People and Culture strategy.

Both the Medical Research Council (MRC) and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) play an important role in meeting this need within the UK Life Sciences sector by strategically supporting an inclusive research environment that is self-sustaining and can effectively meet the research and innovation challenges of the future.

To do this MRC and BBSRC want to better understand the changing skills needs of the bioscience and biomedical research sector in 10 years’ time vs today.

MRC and BBSRC have commissioned Pye Tait Consulting, an independent research agency, to gather evidence on current skills needs and gaps in the life sciences sector to help identify priority areas for support and address any related challenges.

We would like to ask a few questions which should take about 15 minutes to complete, depending on how much you wish to say.

Your views are crucial to develop a detailed understanding of the future skills landscape and potential action needed. Very many thanks in advance for your time and feedback.
