Communications Manager

CaSE (Campaign for Science and Engineering)

London, UK

This is an exciting opportunity to put your stamp on a nationally recognised and respected brand at the heart of the science and engineering sector. As Communications Manager, you will be responsible for shaping CaSE’s identity and building our reputation. You will have the freedom to craft your own communications strategy and focus our efforts on the things that will boost CaSE’s profile. Our organisation has a growing team, growing outputs and growing ambitions, so it’s an exciting time to join us.

Working with the wider CaSE team, you will lead on:

  • Communications – crafting a consistent narrative across all of CaSE’s external messaging, including across member engagement, events, projects and launches.
  • Digital – maintaining a strong online presence for CaSE through social media, and overseeing an externally-commissioned upgrade of our website to deliver greater capability.
  • Media – acting as CaSE’s point of contact for all media inquiries, including drafting quotes, preparing press releases, and cultivating CaSE’s relationship with journalists.
  • Design – producing CaSE’s portfolio of digital and printed outputs, ensuring these are engaging, accessible and consistent.
  • Events – leading on the highest profile events in CaSE’s calendar, including our Annual Lecture and our presence at party conferences.

We are seeking someone who will enjoy working across these five areas to ensure CaSE’s comms are sector-leading. If you enjoy being hands-on and have ideas that suit a small organisation with a big presence, then you will thrive in this exciting role.

About the team

As Communications Manager, you will be a core member of our small, friendly and highly collaborative team. You will report directly to CaSE’s Executive Director and work closely with everyone in the team.

CaSE is entering an exciting new phase, including the recent launch of our Discovery Decade project. You will be joining a small team with a clear set of goals and will be supported to develop your own skills and personal profile across the sector.

We are committed to CaSE being a diverse and inclusive workplace, where everyone can thrive. We welcome applications from all individuals and aim to make our recruitment processes as inclusive as possible.
