Citizens' Innovation Funds (CIFs) are an original BIA policy proposal that would open up opportunities for the general public to invest in innovative UK companies. CIFs would work in a similar way to ISAs, providing tax incentives for savers while allowing them to support causes they believe in, such as medical research and clean energy.

The BIA report, Citizens' Innovation Funds - the case for unlocking the patriotic potential of the public, provides further detail on the proposal and evidence of demand from investors and the public.
