IP and tech transfer

Protecting intellectual property (IP) is an essential activity for bioscience companies. The BIA supports members to do this by providing guidance on IP practice and policy, and advocates on behalf of the sector to the government, European Commission and the UK and EU courts.

Regulation

The BIA is a leading voice for the UK life sciences industry on medicines regulation. We work with government, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure that the regulatory environment is supportive of innovation and patient access to new medicines.

Skills and talent

BIA works collaboratively across the life sciences sector to influence future skills and talent policy, representing the voice of innovative biotech.

Manufacturing

The BIA Manufacturing Advisory Committee (MAC) supports the growth of the UK R&D, clinical and commercial manufacturing and supply chain sector to continue to build and enhance biopharmaceutical manufacturing and associated industries.
