Purpose

To bring together innovators developing engineering biology solutions outside of healthcare across agriculture and food, chemicals and materials, biofuels and environmental applications.

The aim is to facilitate networking and enable the exchange of expertise and learning and collect policy insights from the membership.

Who it's for

Anyone applying engineering biology innovation outside of the life sciences. Those driving industrial transformation in the chemicals and material, food and agriculture, environment and waste and biofuels sectors.

Cell & Gene Therapies

Purpose

To bring together those working in the UK advanced therapies space, enabling them to network and share expertise and opportunities across the sector.

Cell and gene therapy companies and enablers.

Finance & Tax

Purpose
To bring together those facing finance challenges across the sector, creating space to discuss the barriers to growth and investment. The community helps BIA better understand these challenges while providing practical support and sharing expertise, particularly through our skills programme.

Intellectual Property

Purpose
To bring together intellectual property (IP) experts from across law firms and corporate members to network and pull together the UK's full life sciences IP expertise under BIA's banner. It contributes to shaping the environment for IP ownership and ensures strong IP protection is available for member companies.

Skills, people & talent

Purpose

To bring together a dynamic skills and talent community for professionals across the life sciences, providing a space for peer-to-peer learning, shared insight and meaningful connections. TechBio

Purpose

Biotech companies are using cutting-edge techniques from data-driven tech to transform drug discovery and patient care. We call this interface of biology and technology “TechBio".

The aim of the community is to connect those that operate within the growing UK TechBio sector and facilitate the sharing of developments and committee updates. The group provides a voice to TechBio companies, showcasing the UK as a TechBio hub.
