The UK life sciences networking reception
The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) and the Office for Life Sciences (OLS), in partnership with the BIA, invite you to join us for an exclusive reception to network with the UK delegation and businesses during JPM week on Monday, 12 January 2026 at 6:30pm – 8:30pm at the Marines’ Memorial Club (11th Floor, Crystal Ballroom, 609 Sutter Street, San Francisco, CA 94102)
This is the premier opportunity to connect with fellow UK innovators, global investors, and international partners, stimulating new collaborations within the UK’s vibrant life sciences and health research ecosystem.
Please note this event is invitation-only and non-transferable. Please RSVP.
Why attend? The UK advantage
-
Global recognition: The UK attracted 40% of all biotech venture capital financing across Europe in 2024.
-
Trade advantage: The UK is the first country to achieve 0% tariffs on pharmaceutical exports to the US, with preferential terms for medtech, via a landmark deal.
-
Government backing: We are simplifying access to globally-unique data and resources, making regulation, clinical trials, and market entry faster and more streamlined, and investing around 25% more in innovative medicines.
2. The UK@JPM2026 innovator lookbook: Attracting capital
The DBT and OLS are leading the UK presence at JPM 2026. We are keen to maximise opportunities to promote innovative UK companies in attendance to investors, life sciences companies and US healthcare systems through our events and via our networks. We may also use the information collected to inform our presence at other international life sciences events.
To maximise global investment exposure during JPM week, the DBT and OLS are compiling the official UK@JPM2026 innovator lookbook, a strategic catalogue distributed to key global investors, VCs, and health systems.
If your company is travelling to JPM and seeking investment or partnership opportunities, please submit your company profile.
Note: This Lookbook is intended only for UK organisations that are travelling to San Francisco during JPM week.
Why early submission is crucial
DBT/OLS will complete a first draft of this lookbook before the holidays and do a refresh in the week commencing Monday, 5 January. We strongly encourage an early response to the intake form for the following benefits:
-
Matchmaking priority: Early responses help HMG stakeholders (DBT/OLS) match your company to invite-only VC and health systems engagements running during JPM week. We are actively trying to find UK innovators that match specific VC and health system interest areas.
-
Early distribution: The first draft of the lookbook will be issued to select HMG stakeholders (VCs, pharma, health systems) as a warm-up before JPM week. Being listed in this early version and consenting to include your company contact details may encourage better connections to our networks during and beyond the conference.
In summary, the JPM Healthcare Conference is the global gateway for UK life sciences. We strongly encourage all attending organisations to submit to the innovator lookbook immediately and to RSVP promptly for the UK Delegation Reception.
