Our global food system is facing mounting pressures from climate change, population growth and need to assure food security. Safe, resilient and equitable food sources have never been more critical. Leveraging new technologies, making systemic changes to more sustainable practices and diets, and improving supply chain infrastructures requires innovation, resource efficiency and increasing co-operation.
Responsible regulation, seeking as far as possible to encourage self-regulation rather than simply enforcement, should not only protect us as consumers but also support competition, encouraging new investment, innovation and growth. Such a transparent, predictable and consistent, targeted and proportionate (between perceived risk and intended benefit) and adaptable (to technological and innovative changes) system requires underpinning by a robust evidence base.
This conference brings together professionals from across the food sector to explore how measurement science can underpin such a changing regulatory framework by providing robust, science-based solutions.
Through expert talks, panel discussions and networking opportunities, attendees will gain insights into how collaboration between science, industry and policy can build a more resilient and trustworthy food system for the future.
