Frontier AI Programme

Join the new Frontier AI initiative. This project, delivered by Digital Catapult in partnership with Innovate UK, is designed to prepare the UK ecosystem for major frontier AI funding opportunities in the next financial year.

The focus is on frontier AI systems beyond the current LLM paradigm — including alternative architectures, physics-based models, neurosymbolic systems, and other emerging approaches.

We’re bringing together industry, academia, startups, developers, and data owners through a series of targeted workshops to build strong, investable consortia ahead of upcoming funding calls.

The opportunity is significant:

• £2.5 million to establish consortia
• £5–10 million per project for delivery

5. AI for Defence and National Security – Tuesday 31 March – Bristol
