Applications for the Women in Biotech mentoring programme are now open!

What?
The BIA Women in Biotech mentoring programme is a 12-month mentoring scheme aimed at supporting and inspiring incredible women in the sector. The programme runs for a maximum of 12 months from January 2027 to December 2027.
Who is the mentoring scheme for?
Mentees:
The mentoring scheme is open to all women at any career stage working within biotech.
Mentees are strictly limited to BIA member companies only. If you are interested in applying for the programme as a mentee, please contact your BIA primary contact for consideration. If you are unsure who your primary contact is please contact the BIA membership team.
Mentors:
Member and non-member companies are welcome to put forward multiple mentors for the programme. We welcome both male and female mentors.
Application process and selection
Please complete the below application form by Friday 9th October. We reserve the right to close applications early due to demand so strongly recommend you submit your application sooner rather than later.
To avoid your online form being timed out please save your answers in a word doc before entering these into the online form. Once submitted, you should receive a confirmation email from a member of the BIA team within 2 working days. If you do not receive this confirmation email, please contact Kate Barclay urgently with a copy of your saved word document.
The matching process will take place between October and December 2026 with successful pairings being introduced before Christmas 2026. Unless you are concerned your application has not been received, we kindly ask that you do not chase us. The matching process is thorough and can take some time so we appreciate your patience during this period.
Mentee pledge
By applying to the Women in Biotech mentoring scheme I am committed to:
- Being available for regular, monthly meetings with my mentor for a minimum 6-month period
- Being responsible for the scheduling of all meetings with my mentor
- Providing feedback to BIA when requested
- Being open to face-to-face meetings with my mentor and other mentoring meet-ups hosted by the BIA
If you are not able to commit to all of the above through January 2027 and December 2027, we kindly ask you do not apply.
