Caroline Briggs of Amici wins The Disruptor Award at the LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business awards
Caroline Briggs, CEO of Amici, has been named the winner of The Disruptor Award in The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders programme for 2025.
Now in its eighth year, the programme run by LDC in partnership with The Times celebrates the UK’s most inspiring entrepreneurs. This year’s cohort was selected from nearly 700 nominations, showcasing leaders who are driving growth, creating jobs, and making a difference in their communities.
Caroline founded Amici in 2005, building a company that scientists trust to power intelligent LabOps, the discipline behind efficient, compliant, and cost-effective labs. Today, Amici partners with biotech and major pharma companies across the UK, Europe, and the US.
Amici is a specialist procurement and LabOps platform purpose-built for the life sciences sector. With over 8,500 users and a team of 95+ experts, Amici supports organisations across biotech, drug discovery, CROs, and GMP manufacturing to streamline and scale operations.
Its modular platform includes:
- Purchasing – simplifying sourcing and approvals across lab suppliers
- Inventory – providing real-time stock control and automated reordering
- GMP Inventory – enabling full traceability and compliance for regulated labs
- Equipment Management – supporting asset tracking and maintenance scheduling
The judges praised Caroline’s outside-the-box thinking and her ability to disrupt a traditionally slow-moving sector.
Caroline Briggs, CEO of Amici:
This award is a reflection of the incredible team at Amici and the scientists we support every day. We’re proud to be driving innovation in LabOps and helping life science organizations accelerate their discoveries.
John Garner, Managing Partner at LDC, said:
Since founding Amici, Caroline has continued to push boundaries and achieve remarkable things. Not only has she built a business with global reach, but she is also changing the way those in the life sciences sector think about procurement. She is a deserving winner of The Disruptor Award and I’d like to congratulate her on everything she has achieved to date.
