Coulter Partners places industrial biotech leader Thomas Durhuus as CEO of Kaffe Bueno
Coulter Partners, the global expert building leadership teams for Health, Science and Technology innovation businesses, successfully led a search assignment for Kaffe Bueno and is pleased to announce the placement of Thomas Durhuus as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Kaffe Bueno is a Danish bioscience company and certified B Corp that upcycles coffee by-products into high-performance, active, and functional ingredients. Using green chemistry and biotechnology, the company unlocks the full potential of coffee by-products to provide sustainable, natural solutions for the personal care, nutraceutical, food, and industrial sectors.
As CEO, Thomas will lead Kaffe Bueno into its next phase of commercial scale and global impact. His appointment follows a planned leadership transition from co-founder Juan Pablo Medina, who was instrumental in building the company from concept to commercial stage and remains a significant shareholder.
Thomas brings more than 15 years of leadership experience across industrial biotechnology, ingredients, food, personal care, and health. He has held senior roles in both global companies and high-growth startups, combining strong commercial acumen with deep operational and scale-up expertise. Thomas is recognized for building and leading cross-functional teams, holding P&L responsibility and overseeing capital-intensive operations that turn sustainable innovations into market-leading businesses.
