Coulter Partners places seasoned U.S. MedTech executive Jill Schiaparelli as Chair of the Board of Directors of Salvia BioElectronics
Coulter Partners, the global expert building leadership teams for Health, Science and Technology innovation businesses, successfully led a search for Salvia BioElectronics B.V. and is pleased to announce the placement of Jill Schiaparelli, as Chair of its Board of Directors.
Salvia BioElectronics is a clinical-stage medical device company pioneering a neuromodulation therapy for people with debilitating migraine. Its MySalvia neuromodulation platform is poised to set a new standard of care and restore quality of life to hundreds of millions of people who suffer with resistant migraine, a condition in which significant disability persists despite multiple treatments.
Jill Schiaparelli’s appointment reflects Salvia's deliberate expansion of its U.S. leadership team as the company advances its investigational MySalvia Therapy through clinical evaluation and continues to move toward commercialization in the US and the EU.
Bringing nearly three decades of leadership across medical devices, neuromodulation, and commercial strategy, Jill joins Salvia with a proven track record of guiding innovative medical technology companies through the full product lifecycle. Her specialized background in scaling high-growth ventures and establishing robust clinical validation pathways will be instrumental in steering Salvia's corporate governance and cross-border commercial strategy.
Hubert Martens, Founder and CEO of Salvia, said:
We are delighted to welcome Jill as Board Chair of Salvia BioElectronics. Jill has spent her career building and leading medical device companies through the full commercial journey, from development through FDA clearance and into the market. Her direct experience in the neuromodulation space, combined with her depth of leadership experience, is exactly the profile we need. As we advance MySalvia Therapy through the critical phases of clinical development and toward commercialization, her leadership at the board level will be invaluable. Our collaboration with Coulter Partners was vital to this search. Navigating a transatlantic placement within a highly technical and niche clinical sector requires deep domain expertise. The Coulter Partners team demonstrated impressive international reach and real strategic agility, acting as a seamless extension of our business to secure a world-class U.S. leader who shares our vision to deliver drug-free relief to millions of migraine sufferers.
Penny Sadler, Managing Partner at Coulter Partners, said:
Identifying a Chair in the niche neuromodulation medical device market in the U.S. is particularly challenging given the complex market dynamics and limited talent pool of leaders who combine venture-backed CEO experience, deep commercial expertise, and a proven ability to scale within a highly specialized and evolving segment. Our goal was to uncover an executive who could translate pioneering science into an impactful U.S. commercial strategy, and Jill’s phenomenal track record of taking breakthrough bioelectronic platforms from inception through to regulatory milestones makes her uniquely positioned to guide Salvia through its next growth inflection point.
Nona Footz, Client Partner at Coulter Partners, added:
Jill is the unique combination of deep technical experience coupled with high EQ, a leadership track record of making an impact in growing companies, and leveraging her knowledge and network to help drive team performance. Her innate understanding of operational scale-up within the American healthcare ecosystem, paired with her extensive board-level governance experience, ensures that Salvia is remarkably well-positioned. It was a privilege to partner with Hubert and the Salvia Board to complete this high-impact international placement.
