ADHD in middle and older age: What does the research tell us?

Join us for this free, online Public Science Seminar as Dr Amber John delves into her research on ageing and ADHD - Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. She will talk about the findings from her programme of research on ADHD in people aged 50+. The session is a chance for all science-lovers to hear about vital medical research, directly from the researchers, with an opportunity to ask some questions towards the end.

ADHD begins in childhood, and although it is now understood to persist into adulthood for many people, the condition remains under-recognised in adults in the UK. Younger adults with ADHD face significant challenges, including mental and physical health issues, difficulties accessing healthcare, and earlier mortality. However, less is known about how ADHD affects adults aged 50 and older, leaving their needs poorly understood and unmet. Dr Amber John aims to better understand the experiences of people aged 50+ with ADHD to improve their health and wellbeing.

This Science Seminar is aimed at all those with an interest in science and is ideal to join online over a lunch break. If you are interested but you aren’t able to join, please register for the session anyway and we will send you a recording of the seminar afterwards.
