Firefinch Software joins ABHI and launches UK–Europe training roadshow for medical device developers

Firefinch Software, a multidisciplinary group of developers and experts who specialise in the development of life sciences software, today announced that they have become a member of the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI), the UK’s leading industry association for healthtech. The move underlines Firefinch’s commitment to helping medical device developers build robust, regulation ready at every stage of their journey from start-up, spin-out or scale up.

This new membership neatly dovetails with the launch of Firefinch’s new training roadshow across key hubs, with events planned in Edinburgh, Leeds, York, Glasgow and planning underway for events across Switzerland. The programme is designed to give founders, innovators and tech leads practical guidance on how to create and coordinate well designed software that streamlines device lifecycles and crucially, that accurately records valuable data.

Workshops on the roadshow will focus on common pain points, pitfalls and top tips, cover EU, AI regulations in medical device development, leaving attendees with a clearer understanding of regulatory expectations. Each session will combine case based discussion with implementation focused tips that attendees can take back into their own organisations, as well as optional 1-2-1 expert clinics.

Isabel Vincent, Market Development Manager, said:

Joining ABHI is an important milestone for Firefinch and a natural next step in our work with medical device and life science companies. ABHI’s position at the heart of the UK health tech ecosystem, combined with our hands-on experience building compliant, scalable software for the life sciences sector, means we can better support teams who are under pressure to innovate at pace while maintaining high standards of quality, data integrity and regulatory compliance. By taking our training on the road to centres like Edinburgh, Leeds, York, Glasgow and Basel, we want to meet medical device developers where they are, listen to their challenges and share practical, real-world approaches to translate their ideas into functional software for medical devices.

Jonathan Evans, Director of Communications at ABHI, added:

We are delighted to welcome Firefinch Software to ABHI. As digital, AI and software-enabled technologies become increasingly fundamental to patient care, the ability to design compliant, scalable products is critical. The expert, hands-on support that organisations like Firefinch provide helps companies move from concept to adoption more effectively, ultimately strengthening the UK’s innovation pipeline.
