Kidney Research UK are looking for a peer educator coordinator for a project being delivered in partnership with NHS Wales Collaborative, Diabetes UK Cymru and Kidney Wales. Aims of the project Reduce the impact of diabetic kidney disease within the South Asian communities and lower Socio Economic Status (SES) communities in Cardiff and Newport.

Working closely with the health equalities programme manager, to help recruit, train, support and coordinate the volunteers’ (called peer educators) activities as part of the intervention of the project. Peer educator approaches can enhance uptake of tests to detect kidney disease early and prevent or reduce progression. This is particularly so in ‘under-served’ groups and is an economical and well established way of reducing health inequalities.

Salary £13,200 - £14,100 (£22,000 - £23,500 FTE) depending on experience
