HydRegen has a vision for a cleaner chemicals sector and a mission to deliver 'slot in' biotech for cheaper, safer and more sustainable chemical processes. Political, societal, regulatory and financial pressures are driving the chemicals industry to decrease reliance on finite resources such as petrochemical feedstocks and precious metal catalysts.

HydRegen delivers renewable, next-generation bio-based manufacturing capabilities that operate within existing chemical manufacturing infrastructure but under more energy and resource-efficient conditions. For one of its case study processes, paracetamol production, HydRegen predicts a 3 x CO2e saving, as well as a safer and more agile manufacturing process that could support more competitive EU-based production and therefore facilitate secure supply chains of this critical chemical product.
