The BIA has responded to a BEIS consultation on subsidy control.

In our response, we explain the different forms of subsidy used by the life sciences sector and how they benefit the economy and UK as a whole. We also recommended the new regime uses the “going concern” test already used for some UK subsidies; it allows for a subjective assessment to be made by an expert, who is able to apply their understanding of the particular characteristics of different sectors to determine the viability of a company.
