Engineering biology pitching competition

The BioIndustry Association (BIA) is organising a pitching competition for engineering biology start-ups and SMEs that are looking for early-stage investment. The companies will pitch to a panel of investors and a broad audience of representatives from across the life sciences sector.

Early-stage (pre-revenue, pre-Series A funding) engineering biology companies from any sub-sector are welcome to register their interest. Each pitch will be 5 minutes with 2 minutes for Q&A.

The pitching competition will be part of the BIA’s annual UK Bioscience Forum, a conference which attracts over 300 representatives from the life sciences sector. All companies that pitch will get free access to the full conference, including lunch and drinks reception.

The competition will take place at County Hall in central London between 2.00 and 3.30pm on Thursday 17 October. The winner of the competition will be chosen by the investors on the panel and announced at the drinks reception at 6.00pm. The winner will also receive a free ticket (at a value of £540.00 + VAT) to the BIA’s CEO & Investor Forum in 2020, a two-day conference designed for those in the investment community and for corporate senior management in bioscience companies.

This is a great opportunity to pitch for new investment, raise your company’s profile and win a free ticket to an exclusive conference. To register your interest, please email Eric Johnsson at [email protected] by 29 August and include how much your company has raised to date and how much you’re looking to raise in your next funding round.
